Top positions in CWUR ranking and Wirtschaftswoche ranking

In the CWUR Ranking 2023, the University of Stuttgart is among the top 2.5 percent worldwide, and in the Wirtschaftswoche Ranking, three study programs make it into the TOP 10

In its ranking published on May 15, 2023, the Center for World University Rankings (CWUR) lists the University of Stuttgart in 498th place out of a total of 20,531 universities worldwide. This place it firmly in the top 2.5 percent internationally. It particularly stands out in terms of the academic success of its alumni. In this category, the University of Stuttgart is ranked 127th and is thus among the top 1 percent of universities worldwide.

The university ranking, first published in 2012 by the Center for World University Rankings CWUR, evaluates universities on the basis of seven indicators: Education, employability, faculty, research, high quality publications, influence and citations. The indicators for this ranking are not based on surveys or the universities' own statements, but on objective indicators such as research performance (40%), the quality of teaching (25%) and faculties (10%), and on how many alumni are employed in top positions (25%).
