At this year’s ceremony for the Deutschlandstipendium, held on May 21 at the Haus der Wirtschaft, more than 300 scholarship recipients, guests, and sponsors of the University of Stuttgart gathered once again.
Over 160 scholarships awarded
In a festive atmosphere, the University of Stuttgart honored the achievements of its scholarship recipients and the dedication of its sponsors. In addition to the Deutschlandstipendium, the presentation of the Teaching Award of the Student Council (stuvus) was, for the first time, a highlight of the ceremony.
The subsequent presentation of certificates and the reception, held in a relaxed atmosphere, once again provided ample opportunity in 2026 for personal interactions and exchanges among students, sponsors, and university staff.
Anna Steiger, Chancellor of the University of Stuttgart, was delighted to welcome over 300 guests to the ceremony for the awarding of the Deutschlandstipendium. She congratulated the scholarship recipients and thanked the sponsors for their financial and personal support.
Prof. Dr. Michael-Jörg Oesterle, Vice Rector, then opened the presentation of the University Teaching Awards and the DAAD Award for Outstanding International Students.

Stephan Keck of the patent law firm Witte, Weller und Partner emphasized the importance of curiosity, particularly during one's studies, and encouraged the students to maintain that curiosity even after graduation.
Speaking on behalf of the English-speaking students, one scholarship recipient expressed her gratitude for the opportunities the Deutschlandstipendium has opened up for her. In her moving speech, she made it clear that the Deutschlandstipendium meant so much more to her than just financial support: She said that her networking experiences had given her new ideas in her studies and concluded by saying that she had grown as a person.
