The University of Stuttgart offers a program for highly qualified job applicants that supports especially their partners in order to motivate couples to move to the region of Stuttgart.
Nine other universities in the region of Stuttgart have also become aware of the necessity to support dual career couples and, coordinated by the University of Stuttgart, joined to form the University Network Dual Career Solutions.

Title Mentoring Programme of the University of Stuttgart

The University of Stuttgart designed a mentoring programme for women working in science and research. It is meant to improve women's career opportunities and to reduce their low representation in science and economy, which is still an apparent factor.
Contact with successful mentors, professionally experienced in science and industry, will support young scientists in their personal and occupational career. Additionally, there will be encouragement for demand-oriented continuing education.

The major task of the Coordination Office for Scientific Further Education (KWW) is the transfer of knowledge and knowhow from scientists working in the academic field to the decision makers in management and expert functions in the business world.
Each term its staff organizes about 80 to 140 courses which are of particular interest to specialists and executive staff. Additional offers are especially desigend for the university’s staff, students or alumni. There are also courses for founders of new businesses which give them input about the necessary key qualifications for setting up a business.

Info The "Studium Generale" provides the possibility to deal with topics that are not part of their usual studies.
Students without a matriculation are offered the possibility to take part in the General Studies Program. Everybody who is interested in continuing scientific studies can participate in almost all workshops and research groups that are published in the booklet of the ?Studium Generale?.

Info Femtec.Network is a cooperation of leading technical universities (Aachen, Berlin, Darmstadt, Dresden, Stuttgart, as of 2006 ETH Zürich) and well-known companies (Bosch, DaimlerChrysler, EADS, Porsche, Siemens, The Boston Consulting Group, ThyssenKrupp, Wintershall) together with the Femtec.Hochschulkarrierezentrum für Frauen Berlin GmbH (Femtech University Career Centre).

Beyond inspiring young women to take-up an engineering or scientific study, the ambitions of the Femtec.Network are:

In order to realize these aims a career building program is offered for excellent female students in their advanced study period in selected engineering and scientific study courses. Title Regionalverbund Hochschuldidaktik (Regional Centre for University Didactics) [de]
Info The Regional Network of Academy Didactics is a cooperation programme of the universities of Hohenheim, Stuttgart, Tübingen and Ulm. The network is part of the Center of Academy Didactics of the Universities of Baden-Württemberg. The aim is to improve the quality of the teaching at the universities of Baden-Württemberg. It assists lecturers to improve their expertise with manifold offers:
- didactical courses including the subsequent opportunity of Internet-supported consulting
- additional internship including individual coaching
- consulting on special didactical concerns of the teaching staff
- the creation of cooperative consulting

Target group is the teaching staff of the universities in Baden-Württemberg who want to improve their teaching methods and their didactical qualifications.
